Sexual Exploitation Education (SEE) was created in 2018 as an action plan to provide innovative, engaging, and accessible presentations, trainings, and consulting services to schools, organizations, and businesses across Canada in a way that was never done before. Our mission was to prevent sexual exploitation and human trafficking by focusing on root causes that contribute to sexual exploitation so that anyone can experience the relevance of the topic.
Since its inception, SEE had been a leading agency in this field, being called upon for research, pro-d keynotes, international conference presentations, nation-wide law enforcement trainings, non profit consulting, and school district consulting. Our approach had been featured in media outlets such as CBC news, Global News, and others.
SEE was also proud to introduce the very first prevention education app, the SEE-App- a free tool for students, schools, and parents.
As a response to the ever growing demand for SEE's programs, and the expansion and introduction to further programs, we expanded into The Exploitation Education Institute (ExEd). Sexual Exploitation Education (SEE) is now our educational programs, while we continue to offer more unique programs, education, and resources.
Using her educational background in Counselling and Psychology, her experience and expertise, Tiana felt that there were many gaps in service on this issue and sought to develop a dynamic and innovative approach to these gaps.
Tiana's aim in preventing sexual exploitation and human trafficking across Canada and the US rendered her to develop prevention education programs on the topic that addressed the root causes leading to sexual exploitation and using accessible language.
She believes that prevention programs must avoid a 'doom and gloom' approach, because no one can feel empowered if they feel hopeless or overwhelmed!
In order to provide a holistic approach, Tiana has been the first in the field to provide presentation "packages", where school districts receive more than just a one time presentation. They also receive an interactive app (the first ever app on anti sexual exploitation) and additional lesson plan activities.
As a professional, and as a mother herself, Tiana has dedicated her life to fighting against the sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children and youth. She believes that children need to be our priority.
As an international expert, Tiana has been invited to, and has presented at, the following conferences:
The topics of Human trafficking and sexual exploitation do not typically appeal to the general public. So how do we make prevention on this issue accessible to all? By focusing on the root causes which include consent, healthy boundaries, and digital wellness. Our hope is that if you are not a service provider directly working in this field, that you won't even be aware the information you are engaging with revolves around human trafficking prevention!
We could be formal and conventional, or we could just tell you as it is. As experts who are familiar with the nuances of exploitation, our objective is to be as authentic as possible in sharing our knowledge and perspectives. We won't shy away from the tough topics and questions.
We are always asking ourselves, "what is not being done and how can we address any gaps in prevention?".
The first ever interactive prevention education app (the SEE-App) and the first animated interactive virtual curriculum are just two examples of our mission to inventive in prevention.
Child exploitation is heavy enough as it is and no adult likes to sit in the fear of extreme tragedies. Our programs are accompanied by humor, fun, games, and engaging activities for effective and engaging prevention- be it adults, children, or teens!
