During these primary years, where children are beginning to have more access to the internet, ensuring internet safety will be deeply connected to a child's ability to define healthy vs unhealthy situations, as well as understanding what consent looks like in person, and digitally. By educating on virtual courses on online safety for kids, we also build empathy and a moral compass regarding respectful online behaviours .
The topics covered include:
Teachers co-facilitate an interactive animated video presentation, where students play games and activities to learn about the concepts above. Teachers are also provided with virtual courses on online social media safety for kids and teens in Canada and BC .
By grade 6/7, children are in a time of rapid growth, including the ability to practice self control. These are impressionable times for developing and incorporating personal identity into consent, healthy boundaries, and healthy online behaviours.
